Appointments, honors and activities

• Appointments and promotions:- Linda Mason, professor of entomology, has been named associate dean in Purdue's Graduate School. Mason will oversee Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR), new professional development activities, program assessment, program reviews, and other special initiatives.
- Timothy B. Luzader, director of the Center for Career Opportunities, has been inducted into the National Association of Colleges and Employers Academy of Fellows. Established in June of 1994, the academy recognizes individuals who have contributed to the career services and human resources/staffing profession through the advancement of knowledge, leadership, or excellence in professional practice. Induction in the NACE Academy of Fellows is considered one of the highest honors that can be achieved by a professional in the field.
- Ken Foster, professor and head of the Department of Agricultural Economics, has been named president-elect of the National Association of Agricultural Economics Administrators. The mission of the NAAEA is to improve the leadership and management of agricultural economics programs; to support the acquisition of resources to carry out agricultural economics research, teaching, and extension programs; and to address common needs and concerns of agricultural economics administrators.
- Maria Marshall, associate professor of agricultural economics, has been awarded the Agricultural and Applied Economics Association's Distinguished Extension/Outreach Program Award for an Individual with Less than 10 Years Experience. The award is regarded as the most prestigious honor available for early career Extension professionals in the agricultural economics profession.
