— Irwin Weiser, interim dean of the College of Liberal Arts and professor of English, is the co-editor of "Going Public: What Writing Programs Learn From Engagement." — Lynnise Smith of Purdue's Office of Supplier Diversity Development helped organize the 2010 Indiana Subcontractors Association Construction Networking conference, scheduled for Thursday (Feb. 25) at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis. Smith, supplier diversity specialist, was on the planning committee for the event and recruited minority and women-owned businesses to participate in the MBE/WBE and Economic Development Network Pavilion discussion set for 3:50-4:50 p.m. Smith also assisted with the planning of the panel discussion for the event's annual luncheon. The discussion will feature a presentations of the master plans of Purdue, Ball State and Indiana universities, along with Ivy Tech. A student seminar also will be held. Purdue's building construction management program is coordinating a trip for students to attend.
