• Faculty and staff honors:— Three Purdue professors of educational psychology have been honored by the National Association for Research in Science Teaching. Helen Patrick, Panayota Mantzicopoulos and Ala Samarapungavan won the 2010 Journal of Research in Science Teaching Award for their article "Motivation for Learning Science in Kindergarten: Is There a Gender Gap and Does Integrated Inquiry and Literacy Instruction Make a Difference." Their article received the highest ratings from a selection committee of their colleagues among all articles in the journal's 2009 volume.
— Kern Hendrix, retired Purdue Extension beef specialist, received the Robert C. Peterson Lifetime Achievement Award from the Indiana Beef Cattle Association during the association's recent annual awards dinner. The award recognizes career contributions to the Indiana beef cattle industry.
