Purdue to host economic development workshop

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – A regional workshop designed to provide tools and techniques to measure economic impact will be Aug. 17 at Purdue University.

The workshop is designed for government officials, economic and community development professionals, business and civic leaders, and volunteers and students interested in economic development. It is sponsored by the Economic Development Working Group, a collaboration of the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs (OCRA), Indiana Economic Development Corporation (IEDC), Association of Indiana Counties, Indiana Association of Cities and Towns, Purdue, Ball State University, Indiana State University, Indiana University, and University of Southern Indiana.

Participants will learn how to measure economic impact and how to determine the best investments for their communities' economic futures.

Presenters will be Todd Cook of IEDC, David Terrell of OCRA, Michael Hicks of Ball State Center for Business and Economic Research, and Sam Cordes and Scott Hutcheson of Purdue Center for Regional Development.

The workshop will be from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Beck Agricultural Center, 4540 U.S. 52 West, West Lafayette. Registration is $20 and includes lunch. Online registration is available at https://www.purdue.edu/rei
