Purdue West Lafayette commencement to be shown live on TV, webcast

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Purdue University's winter commencement ceremonies on Dec. 19 will be broadcast live for television and Internet audiences.

Ceremonies are scheduled for 9:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. in the Elliott Hall of Music. The morning ceremony will be for students in the colleges of Consumer and Family Sciences; Education; Pharmacy, Nursing and Health Sciences; Science; Technology; and the School of Management. In the afternoon, students in the colleges of Agriculture, Engineering, Liberal Arts and School of Veterinary Medicine will receive degrees.

The events will be aired live on Comcast Channel 5 and Boiler TV Channel 13. All speeches will be captioned for the hearing impaired. The ceremonies also will be shown live via webcast at mms://video.dis.purdue.edu/graduation

The webcast link will not be active until 48 hours before the ceremony.

The broadcasts will begin 30 minutes prior to each ceremony to show the procession of graduation candidates.

Commencement videos will be available at $30 per DVD. Order forms can be obtained at the Loeb Playhouse Box Office, online at https://www.purdue.edu/registrar/pdf/DVD_Form.pdf or by calling 765-494-3933. Forms may be submitted both before and after the ceremony within two weeks of the event.

There are 2,991 students who are candidates for degrees at West Lafayette, including 1,930 undergraduates, 470 doctoral students, 579 master's students, one education specialist and 11 professional degree seekers.
