Commission for Higher Education decisions on under-threshold degree programs (April 1, 2026)
Pursuant to the execution of House Enrolled Act 1001 and Indiana Code 21-18-9-10.7, the Indiana Commission for Higher Education met April 1 and made decisions on impacted degree programs at the seven public institutions in Indiana. The Commission and the University worked together to ensure that no current students are affected and all will continue their programs through graduation. College deans will communicate directly with departments that have programs that have been merged, consolidated, suspended or eliminated as the result of the state legislation. In some cases, programs impacted had no enrolled students or were duplicative of other similar programs. In all, programs scheduled for suspension or elimination account for around 0.4% of enrollment at Purdue.
