Trustees approve winter recess for 2026

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — At the recommendation of President Mung Chiang, the Purdue University Board of Trustees on Friday (Feb. 6) approved the addition of a three-day winter recess from Dec. 28-30, 2026, for faculty and staff at the main (West Lafayette and Indianapolis), Fort Wayne and Northwest campuses. The three days are in addition to approved university holidays on Dec. 24-25 and Jan. 1, 2027, as well as the president’s designated holiday on Dec. 31.

Therefore, the university officially will be closed Dec. 24, 2026, through Jan. 3, 2027.
