4 new health care facilities announced in West Lafayette
Four new medical facilities will significantly expand access to emergency, inpatient, specialty and primary care services in West Lafayette. (See "Map of Health Care Facility Locations" in additional information below.)
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — In a response to local economic growth, West Lafayette is set to gain four new medical facilities, significantly expanding access to emergency, inpatient, specialty and primary care services within the city.

In chronological order, here are each health care system provider’s announcement from recent months:
- Ascension St. Vincent is moving forward on a neighborhood medical care facility inside the growing Discovery Park District at Purdue, providing advanced urgent care, imaging, labs and primary care physicians for students, employees and Greater Lafayette residents.
- Franciscan Health Lafayette is developing a freestanding emergency department at the corner of US 52/231 and Cumberland Avenue, offering 24/7 emergency care, orthopedic urgent care, physical therapy and advanced imaging services. Construction is expected to begin later this year and be completed within two years.
- IU Health announced plans to build a full-service hospital in West Lafayette as part of an overall regional investment. The facility will feature a 24/7 emergency department, inpatient care, multiple operating rooms, a helipad for emergency transportation, and advanced imaging and laboratory services. Construction is expected to begin in 2026, with the facility projected to open in 2028.
- Parkview Health will open a 40-bed inpatient hospital in the Purdue Research Park, including a 24/7 emergency department, surgical and specialty care, outpatient diagnostics, ancillary services and be a shared employer clinic with city, schools and local businesses. Primary and specialty care offices are expected to be available prior to the full hospital opening in 2028.
Together, these projects represent an investment of more than $500 million from health care providers and an unprecedented expansion of health care in West Lafayette, reflecting a shared commitment to building a healthy community for Boilermakers and neighbors.
