Purdue trustees approve naming of Amelia Earhart Terminal at Purdue University Airport

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. —

The Purdue University Board of Trustees on Friday (Feb. 2) gave approval to name the to-be-constructed terminal at Purdue University Airport for Amelia Earhart, in recognition of her connection to Purdue University and its renowned history in aviation.

The board also ratified a faculty position and approved a new degree program and resolutions of appreciation, among its actions.

In addition, President Mung Chiang led a discussion updating the board on Purdue University in Indianapolis and shared key findings and next steps from the Purdue West Lafayette transportation and pedestrian safety study.
