WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. —

The Purdue Institute for Physical Artificial Intelligence (IPAI) has launched a new postdoctoral research program aimed at developing emerging leaders who address real-world problems in our physical environment. The Advancing Interdisciplinary Research in Physical AI program is funded through the Lilly Endowment and the Office of Research and is accepting applications through April 5.

IPAI’s postdoctoral research program intends to cultivate impactful, interdisciplinary research in physical AI by selecting postdocs with projects that integrate AI/machine learning and another applied discipline such as manufacturing, transportation, agriculture, microelectronics or health.

Postdoc funding includes an annual salary and support for research and professional development. Recipients will have two years of full-time funding with the option to renew for an additional year. Selected individuals are expected to conduct independent research projects with faculty co-advisors and submit annual reports documenting their progress.
