Purdue hypersonics combines industry, academia in new materials and manufacturing center

First-of-its-kind estimate of the total number of tree species

A team of scientists co-led by Jingjing Liang, assistant professor of quantitative forest ecology, has created the first data estimate of the total number of tree species on Earth – 73,300 with over 9,000 species yet to be discovered.
