Weed Science Lab Publishes Banana Pepper Research

Five peppers placed on the ground

The Horticulture Crops Weed Science Lab published the results of a field-based research trial from 2022 investigating the tolerance of plasticulture banana pepper to clomazone herbicide. The work was supported by an Indiana State Department of Agriculture Specialty Crop Block Grant, and the results were used to secure a 24(c) special local need label for Command® herbicide in Indiana. Thank you to the crews at the Horticulture Greenhouses, Meigs Horticulture Research Farm, and Pinney Purdue Ag Center for assisting with this research.
