A cute looking jumping spider!
It’s quite dreary as I write the newsletter today (Tuesday). Checking the weather, I’m excited to see that the temperature is about to drop a bit. I’m craving a proper fall! The last couple fall weeks of CSA are always so distinguishable. Outside during pickup, we’re hardly ever prepared for the first Friday it gets cold out. One of us is always under dressed for the biting wind, but once we get into the habit of bringing layers, the fall vibes are untouchable. Nothing feels better than taking a break to sip on a hot drink while handing out pumpkins from the back of the farm truck. Historically, students have brought in baked goods to snack on during the last few pickups. My favorite part is how excited people get about the pumpkins. Especially when CSA parents pull up with their kids who, I assume, are thrilled at the prospect of pumpkin carving. And its not even just you CSAers. My friends and family are always happy to get pumpkins pawned off to them on weekends. Last year, I had fun sneaking pumpkins onto my friends’ porches without telling them, waiting to hear their reactions. I’m definitely looking forward to this year’s pumpkin delivery service.
