Since 2010, the Purdue Student Farm has grown into a nationally recognized educational hub for sustainable agriculture. Located on 3.5 acres at the northern edge of Purdue’s campus, the farm integrates teaching, research, and Extension to serve students and the broader community.
In 2024 alone, the farm produced over 27,000 pounds of food, trained hundreds of students and farm operators, and supported 17 research projects. Innovations like the Overbeck Controlled Environment Agriculture Facility and tools such as the HortCalculator and mobile LiDAR systems are pushing the boundaries of modern farming.
The farm’s CSA program, born during the pandemic, now serves over 150 members, while its annual Small Farm Education Field Day has attracted nearly a thousand participants since 2018. Through partnerships, outreach, and hands-on learning, the Purdue Student Farm is not just growing crops—it’s growing leaders, knowledge, and community.
