Ashley Adair and a team of northern Indiana field extension specialists and educators (Jeff Burbrink, Mark Evans, Kathryn Jennings, Emily Kresca, Bryan Overstreet, and Brieanna Slonaker) hosted the Northern Indiana Organic Field Day. The event brought together organic dairy and crop producers from across the northern half of the state to IMS Dairy in Nappanee for education and networking. This event was offered free of charge to participants through support from the Indiana Organic Network.
Featured speakers included Ohio State University’s Dr. Eugene Law, CalfCare’s Dr. Jan Gawthrop, a panel including Michael O’Donnell (MAD Ag), Aaron Imhoff (farmer), and Eric Martin (farmer host), and Purdue Extension’s Mark Evans.
Feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with 100% of survey respondents indicating that the event improved their overall organic knowledge.

Participants enjoy a pasture walk with Eric Martin, farmer host, and learn about forage quality and management at IMS Dairy.
