HLA Members Presented at Indiana Diverse Farm Tours

Several members of HLA presented at Indiana Diverse Farm Tours on August 12 at DeSutter and Mills Farms, and August 13 at Van Kleys Blueberries and Hennings Farm and Greenhouses. Ashley Adair emceed and spoke about organic certification; Juliano Marques presented “Market Segmentation: A Key to Fine Tuning Your Products,” and Miranda Purcell discussed blueberry production. Liz Maynard collaborated with Ashley and ANR Educators Summer Brinkman, Marty Huseman, and Tricia Herr to organize the events with assistance from Emily DeaKyne. Events also included presentations from farmers and other researchers. The final tour of the series featuring organic popcorn, small grains, sunflowers, and equipment, will be held August 27, 9:30 – 3:30 at Living Prairie Farms in Wolcott. The event is free to attend but registration is requested at https://purdue.ca1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_a9mFtIqL76KlvdI. The tours are sponsored by the Diverse Corn Belt project, Indiana Organic Network, and USDA NIFA Grant 2022-51300-38056.
