Head Grower Drew Koschmann will share his personal journey from horticulture student at Purdue University to becoming head grower at the largest perennial grower in North America—Walters Gardens, in Zeeland, Michigan. Drew has been a nature lover since childhood, backpacking, biking, and cross-country skiing with his science teacher father. This passion for the outdoors propelled him toward an educational focus in the sciences. During Drew’s time at Purdue, he explored careers in natural resources, education, and veterinary science but eventually fell in love with horticulture. Purdue’s comprehensive program thoroughly prepared him for a professional career in greenhouse management and since graduating, he’s held leadership positions at three of the most successful horticultural operations in the Midwest.
