Undergraduate students in the Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences department have opportunities to learn about the professions of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology through observing and volunteering in the on-site M.D. Steer Speech, Language, and Swallowing Clinic and Audiology Clinic. Students observe clinical sessions for course assignments and can apply to take independent study credits (SLHS 49000) for a semester-long experience observing/volunteering in the clinics. These independent study credits must be approved by a clinical faculty member. For more specific information on how to observe, volunteer, or register for an independent study course (SLHS 49000), please click here. Be sure to consult your academic advisor.
