Eric Palmer

Background

Eric Palmer

I hold two master’s degrees: a master’s of science in nursing (MSN) and a master’s in health administration (MHA). I retired from the U.S. Navy in 2013 and have clinical and administrative experience in a multitude of care settings with a specialty in nursing and health care administration and leadership.

Research Interests

My research interest encompasses disaster management and disaster risk reduction affecting health care entities, especially long-term care facilities. As a part-time student, my primary mentor is Associate Professor of Nursing Kathleen Abrahamson.

Why Purdue?

I chose Purdue University’s PhD in Nursing program because of the cultural and professional diversity found on Purdue’s campus. Purdue University’s nursing program encompasses education from various scientific disciplines and encourages multidisciplinary collaboration to complete the program. I’m grateful to be part of a program with world-renowned researchers in long-term care, scholarship and systems engineering.
