A message from Dr. Karagory about Nursing’s COVID-19 work

Welcome to the Spring 2020 issue of Purdue Nurse magazine. The world around us looks different this issue as we are all adjusting to a new way of life. This has temporarily changed how we are delivering our nursing programs, but it has not changed our commitment to educational excellence, and dedication to our mission. The Purdue School of Nursing continues to empower our faculty and students to pursue bold ideas and influence health care delivery in Indiana and around the world. The need for Purdue nurses, bold leaders and nursing scientists has never been greater.
Here at Purdue, we are preparing for the start of the new academic year in the midst of many uncertainties stemming from the COVID-19 pandemic. The commitment to the mission of the University, the College of Health and Human Sciences, and the School of Nursing has never been more evident as we all work tirelessly to prepare the next generation of professional nurses.
I would like to personally thank all of our students, faculty, Purdue nurses and all health care workers for their dedication and service right now, in this most important time of need. You are our HEROES, and we will always be here to support you — now and in the future.
I am proud of all of the people who are the Purdue School of Nursing and the impactful work they do. What is highlighted in this issue is only the tip of the iceberg of our deeply talented students and faculty, and the strength of our school.
Here we share just some of the ways that members of the Purdue School of Nursing have played a part in the fight against COVID-19.
Hail Purdue!

Pamela Karagory
Interim Head of the School of Nursing
