Health & Kinesiology Undergraduate Program

The undergraduate major in Kinesiology prepares students for fulfilling careers and for graduate or professional education. Our challenging curriculum offers hands-on laboratory, clinical, and internship experiences. HK alumni work as athletic trainers, health and fitness service providers and managers, coaches, and rehab and prosthetics/orthotics technicians for a variety of companies including Bionic Prosthetics and Orthotics, Lafayette Family YMCA, Equinox, Anytime Fitness, ParaPRO LLC, ATI Physical Therapy, and Hendricks Regional Health. Those choosing to further their education have gone on to earn their Master's, MSAT, MPH, DPT, MOT/OTD, PhD, MD or DDS degree(s) at institutions within Indiana and across the United States.

Designed for students interested in the study and research of human movement and sport. Most students in this major plan to attend graduate school in an area of kinesiology or professional school studying athletic training, physical therapy, occupational therapy, or other allied health professions. Within the major of Kinesiology, students can choose to pursue optional concentrations in Clinical Exercise Physiology and/or Sports Medicine. These concentrations are designed for students interested in gaining hands-on experiences necessary to become leading professionals in health & fitness and/or athletic training.
