Maithilee Motlag
Department:Industrial Engineering
Advisor:Dr. Gary J. Cheng
Research Title:Research Area: Computational Material Science & Nanomanufacturing / Research Title : Laser Shock Interaction with 2-Dimensional Materials
Research Description:
My research revolves around the fundamental understanding of interaction of laser shock with materials at a nanoscale level. Laser shock imprinting is a scalable approach to modulate the opto-mechanical properties of 2-dimensional materials for practical semiconductor industry applications. The objective of my research is to study and understand the relation between the laser shocking process and its impact on the mechanical property evolution at ultrahigh strain rate using atomistic simulations.
Why CIGP?
CIGP is a great platform to meet student researchers from different departments and diverse research backgrounds at Purdue. I decided to join CIGP to network with the scientific community at Purdue and learn about the research carried in different fields.
