Why Extension?

Tell us about your background?
I have served as an Agriculture and Natural Resources Educator with Purdue Extension for over ten years. I received my B.S. in Forestry from Iowa State University and my M.S. in Forestry from Purdue University. I am a Certified Arborist and an FAA-licensed drone pilot, combining technical expertise with innovative approaches to forest management.
How did you come to work for the Hardwood Tree Improvement & Regeneration Center (HTIRC), Walnut Council and the Indiana Forestry & Woodland Owners Association (IFWOA)?

With my position as the Engagement Specialist for the Hardwood Tree Improvement & Regeneration Center (HTIRC), Executive Director of the Indiana Forestry & Woodland Owners Association (IFWOA), and Executive Director of the Walnut Council, I have the opportunity to meet and work with a diverse group of woodland owners, scientists, extension experts and outside entities. With a deep commitment to sustainable forestry and land stewardship, I aim to connect landowners with the tools, knowledge, and community they need to care for their woodlands. Through newsletters, websites, social media, and educational events, he ensures that the latest research and best practices are accessible and actionable.
