Grace Freshman Scholar Award

This award recognizes the outstanding academic achievement and strong extracurricular and community involvement of an incoming Exploratory Studies student. Special emphasis is placed on the leadership roles the student has had both in school and in the community.

  • Awarded to an incoming first-year Exploratory student.  No application required.  Students will be contacted if they are offered this award. 
  • Minimum SAT of 1360, ACT composite of 28, or National Merit finalist
  • Firm Deadline - Complete admission application must be on file in the Office of Admissions by November 1
  • Total award of up to $2,000 (non-renewable)
  • Recipient will be notified by February 2021

Carolyn Jones Scholarship

This award recognizes the outstanding academic achievement and strong involvement and leadership of an incoming Exploratory Studies student. This award has a need-based component and awarded to a student with financial need.

  • Awarded to an incoming first-year Exploratory student.  No application required.  Students will be contacted if they are offered this award. 
  • Minimum 3.7 GPA
  • Must be an Indiana resident
  • Firm Deadline - Complete admission application must be on file in the Office of Admissions by November 1
  • Total award of $4,000; $2,000 awarded first year and $2,000 awarded second year (student must maintain 3.0 cum GPA with demonstrated campus or community involvement)
  • Recipient will be notified by February 2021

Purdue Federal Credit Union (PFCU) Citizenship Awards

This award recognizes the outstanding community involvement and strong academic achievement of an incoming Exploratory Studies student. Special emphasis is placed on good citizenship and how active the student has been in her/his school and home community.

  • Awarded to incoming first-year Exploratory Studies student(s)
  • Minimum SAT of 1100, ACT composite of 22, or National Merit Finalist
  • Total award of up to $2,000 (non-renewable)
  • Complete the application here, and note the deadline of January 28th, 2021
  • Recipient will be notified by March 1, 2021

Scholarships for returning Exploratory Studies students ONLY:

Aufderheide Scholarship

This award recognizes outstanding continuing Exploratory Studies students who have financial need:

  • Minimum Requirement: 2.8 cumulative Purdue GPA
  • Students must be in Exploratory Studies during the spring 2019 semester to be eligible
  • There is a required statement regarding financial need which must be submitted as part of the application process
  • Total award of $1000 (non-renewable) given out in fall 2019 and spring 2020 semesters ($500 each semester)
  • Online application available at EXPL Aufderheide Scholarship ApplicationCompleted application and statement are due Friday, March 8, 2019. 
  • Recipients will be notified via their Purdue e-mail by late March

Purdue Federal Credit Union (PFCU) Citizenship Award in Honor of Ronda E. Feathers

This award recognizes the outstanding school/community involvement and strong academic achievement of a continuing Exploratory Studies student with preference going to a member of the Purdue "All-American" Marching Band, or one of the other bands, or in one of the PMO groups.

  • Awarded to first-year, continuing Exploratory student(s)
  • Purdue cumulative (overall) GPA of 3.0 or greater
  • Total award of $1000 (non-renewable) disbursed in equal installments during the fall and spring semesters of the student's sophomore year
  • Online application available at EXPL PFCU Feathers Award ApplicationCompleted application (including Essay and Letter of Recommendation) is due Friday, March 8th, 2019
  • Recipients will be notified via their Purdue e-mail by mid-March

Exploratory Studies First Year Student Scholarship

This award recognizes the outstanding academic achievements of a first year Exploratory Studies student.

  • Awarded to first-year, continuing Exploratory student(s)
  • Purdue cumulative (overall) GPA of 3.8 or greater
  • Total award of $1000 (non-renewable) disbursed in equal installments during the fall and spring semesters of the student's sophomore year
  • Students who qualify will be contacted with a scholarship application. Students will be contacted after spring grades have been released.
