Re: Vice Provost for Enrollment Management announcement

Dear colleagues,

I write to let you know that our colleague Kris Wong Davis today (March 16) will be named the inaugural vice president for enrollment management at Carnegie Mellon University, effective June of 2023.

Kris has served as Purdue’s Vice Provost for Enrollment Management since 2017.  During her tenure, Purdue has grown its undergraduate enrollment by over 22%, while applications for admission have grown by nearly 40%. Notwithstanding the many pressures affecting our peers across the sector, demand for a Purdue education continues to demonstrate strong and consistent growth.

Furthering our support for Purdue students from Indiana, Kris helped lead the establishment of our Boiler Affordability Grant, now called the Boiler Gold Grant, for Pell-eligible residents or those whose families earn less than $80,000 annually. She also created our first Outreach Counselor positions in northwestern Indiana and Marion County, to support the work of our Equity Task Force.  These positions serve students in underresourced schools, guiding them through the process of preparing for college.

To support all our students who were unable to be on campus during the pandemic, Kris’s teams stood up Purdue’s first fully online course catalog.  Her division then hosted our first-ever virtual commencement, as well as our first commencement in Ross-Ade Stadium, to honor graduates.

Kris's last day at Purdue will be June 15, 2023.

Please join me in thanking Kris for her dedication and leadership, and wishing her the best in her new role.
