Dear colleagues, 

I write today to let you know that Bill Bell, Purdue Vice President for Human Resources, has announced his intention to step away from his role at Purdue, effective at the end of this fiscal year, June 30, 2023.

Since his arrival at Purdue in 2018, Bill has been a valued member of the Purdue leadership team, helping implement multiple improvements such as SuccessFactors, job family structure, business process reengineering, and innovative approaches to health and employee well-being benefits. Bill was also instrumental in helping us navigate the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, optimizing our remote work environment and ultimately helping us retain and recruit the talented individuals who work at Purdue today. 

While he has decided that the time has come to move on, on behalf of the university, I am grateful for his stable leadership, wise counsel, the trust he built with internal and external stakeholders, his care and, at all times, his collegiality. Thanks to Bill’s thoughtful team-first approach and focus on staff development and mentorship, I know that he has the entire human resources team set up for continued success.

Over the coming months, Bill and I will work together to ensure a smooth and successful transition and will share additional information as it becomes available. 

Please join me in thanking Bill for his excellent service to Purdue and wish him well as he pursues the next chapter of his successful career.
