Re: Interim Chief Information Security Officer

Colleagues,

Anthony Newman has agreed to take on a new role as Purdue's Interim Chief Information Security Officer.

Anthony holds computer science and management degrees as well as an MBA from Purdue. He also holds a GSEC Security Essentials certificate from the Global Information Assurance Certification (GIAC) organization.

With  more than 18 years of experience working with information technology in government, healthcare, consulting and education sectors, Anthony’s record of success in managing business technology needs, IT operations and security implementations, as well as his consistent history in the successful delivery of effective and efficient technology solutions, makes him an excellent candidate to serve as interim chief information security officer.

As many of you know we conducted a nationwide search to fill the Chief Information Security Officer role. After resume and phone screening, one candidate appeared to have the requisite characteristics that we are looking for and he decided not to pursue our opportunity at Purdue. We have closed the search and decided that we are in a better position having Anthony assume the role as Interim Chief Information Security Officer. I hope you will join me in welcoming and supporting Anthony in this critical role.
