Re:  Information Technology at Purdue (ITaP

It is with regret that I write to announce that Gary Desai, our recently recruited vice president for information technology and system CIO, has elected to relocate back to his hometown in Michigan.

In the short time that he was here, Gary was instrumental in developing an IT strategy aligned with Purdue Moves and improved the IT service metrics dramatically.

ITaP will continue its transformation mission, with its senior leadership reporting directly to me,  until an interim vice president is appointed. We intend to conduct a national search for Gary’s replacement, and information about that search will be shared as soon as details are in place.

I hope you all will join me in expressing our appreciation to Gary and wishing him success in his future endeavors.
