Re:     Office of Industry Partnerships

On November 4, Purdue launched the Office of Industry Partnerships as its primary portal to campus for industry partners. The new office integrates the industry-focused personnel and activities previously in the Office of Corporate and Global Partnerships and the Office of Corporate and Foundation Relations into a single unit with shared goals and metrics. The two offices were formerly under the Office of the Executive Vice President for Research and Partnerships (EVPRP) and the University Development Office (UDO).

The Office of Industry Partnerships is a new unit in the Purdue Research Foundation that jointly reports to Theresa Mayer, executive vice president for research and partnerships, and Jay Kahn, executive senior associate vice president for advancement. David McKinnis, special adviser for corporate and global partnerships, will serve as the interim associate vice president, leading the integration process and day-to-day operation of the new office.

The Office will prioritize strategic partnerships and opportunities for holistic engagement across activities and other University offices, including research and joint programs; talent and recruitment; contracting, intellectual property and licensing; co-location; executive and online education; and sponsorships and philanthropy.

With this transition, Purdue also created two new offices to enhance support for global partnerships in EVPRP and noncorporate foundation relations in UDO. Dan Hirleman, chief corporate and global officer, will lead the Office of Global Partnerships. Drew Weintraut, executive director of foundation relations, will direct the Office of Foundation Relations.
