Re:  Annual Performance Goals Reminder for Staff Employees

Earlier this year, we completed staff evaluations in SuccessFactors for the first time. Overall, we had more than 90 percent of our eligible employees rated in the system. This was a good start as we work to evolve and refine our performance management process moving forward.

Any solid performance management process begins with having specific and measurable goals against which employee performance can be evaluated. Performance goals and associated metrics are an essential part of driving our culture of high performance and accountability.

This memo serves as a reminder that all staff members must have goals assigned for each performance period. Both employees and managers have the ability and responsibility to add goals into SuccessFactors. Managers can directly add goals for those employees that do not have easy access to a computer.

We are asking all employees to have their 2020 goals entered into SuccessFactors by Friday, October 4. Your HR business partner will be providing you with goal status reports. Once entered, supervisors and employees can easily edit goals and track progress towards completion. An ongoing review of goals and progress against them should be a regular conversation between managers and their staff.

Later this week, a Purdue Today article will remind all managers and employees to enter their goals into SuccessFactors. The article will outline important resources, including:

Goals management quick reference guide for supervisors

Please forward any questions regarding goal management and annual evaluations to lod@purdue.edu. Additional information concerning this year’s performance evaluations will be provided in late October.

Thank you for your continued support of Purdue’s performance management process.
