Re:       Transform Purdue Project Update

As you know, our Transform Purdue project team and colleagues have been laser focused on preparing Purdue for an April 1, 2018, go-live of the Human Capital Management (HCM) project.  While we are as committed as ever to the significant personal and University value generated by HCM, we have made the decision to postpone the go-live to improve both our quality and risk profile.

Over the past months, our teams have made significant gains in preparing the organization for the HCM changes, however, challenges exist that require additional time to address.  First, a key pillar of our project, Job Family Structure, deserves and needs further understanding and discussion with the units.  Secondly, we have technical complexity around our interfaces that require a more robust and lengthy testing cycle than originally anticipated.  Finally, a delay will allow us to intensely focus on improving the understanding of new processes by our users through additional education and training.

We are reviewing revised roll-out dates which would allow for the inclusion of previously deferred improvements, a longer stabilization period after our General Ledger project go-live and the lowest technical risk to our systems.  We will make a final decision on a revised roll-out date within the next week and will communicate that as soon as it is settled.

The last piece of the transformation, the General Ledger (Finance)remains on schedule for implementation in July 2018.  We have been pleased with the positive feedback received from many units and leaders with respect to our simplified accounting structures and how we intend to solve key transparency, data integrity and manual processing and tracking issues.

Thank you for your continued support.
