Re:          Study of dining services on West Lafayette campus

Beginning March 1, Purdue Dining & Catering, Student Life and Procurement Services, along with an external consultant, will begin a comprehensive study of dining services on the West Lafayette campus. The study will examine facilities, services and user experience in campus dining, which includes residential dining courts, and on-campus restaurants, cafes and markets offered through Purdue Dining & Catering. The intent is to ensure that campus dining offerings continue to meet the current and future needs of the University community in a manner that is efficient, effective and user-friendly.

Envision Strategies, a firm that has partnered with Purdue on similar studies on several occasions, has been hired to conduct the study. Envision will meet with students, faculty and staff and gather feedback through site visits, focus group meetings and surveys. Our intent is to communicate throughout the study process and to involve as many stakeholders as we can.

More details about the study may be found at www.purdue.edu/diningstudy. A feedback email is offered at diningstudy@purdue.edu, where faculty, staff and students can receive answers to any questions or concerns.

This review is important to ensure that we continue to have a campus dining program that meets our students' needs as well as the goals of the Purdue Moves initiatives dedicated to affordability and on-campus living and learning.

A news release will be issued this afternoon (Feb. 16), and an article in Purdue Today will be issued tomorrow (Feb. 17).

We encourage all faculty, staff and students to learn about and take part in this important study of our services.
