'This Is Purdue’: Purdue alumnus Ronak Dave, NASA flight director

The new episode of “This Is Purdue” features Ronak Dave, a Purdue aeronautics and astronautics alumnus recently selected as a NASA flight director. Dave will lead missions to the International Space Station and prepare for lunar missions for NASA’s Artemis program. Listen in as Dave discusses why Purdue’s close ties to NASA drew this New Jersey native to West Lafayette.

Biomed expert examines how AI can help in fighting diseases

Artificial intelligence, synthetic biology and collaboration are the building blocks that could help biomedical engineers crack the next big discovery in addressing complex health issues. David Umulis, professor and the Dane A. Miller Head of the Weldon School of Biomedical Engineering, says those three areas are key in the rapidly changing biomedical engineering environment.

Summer commencement ceremonies to celebrate students’ next giant leaps

Purdue will celebrate students’ academic accomplishments during two summer commencement ceremonies on Aug. 6. Eligible to participate in the ceremonies are 1,699 students – 510 undergraduate, 756 master’s, 407 Ph.D. and 26 professional program candidates. Purdue alumnus Paul K. Kearns and Clint Chapple, distinguished professor in Department of Biochemistry, will be the keynote speakers.
