Purdue Day of Giving raises $52.5 million

Taking the theme “We Are Purdue,” the eighth annual Purdue Day of Giving surged past last year’s $42.2 million total to raise $52.5 million, through 25,219 gifts, toward the small steps and giant leaps that make Purdue University an engine of innovation and impact.

Purdue Polytechnic HS celebrates Purdue Day, countdown to first graduation

Students, families and staff at Purdue Polytechnic High School (PPHS) Schweitzer Center at Englewood are preparing for several celebrations to celebrate the school’s first class of graduating seniors – celebrations four years in the making. The school celebrated Purdue Day on April 16 with numerous activities for its first class of graduating seniors. A photo gallery of the activities is available here.

Center to celebrate Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month

Purdue's Asian American and Asian Resource and Cultural Center (AAARCC) will be celebrating Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month during the month of May. AAARCC will be sharing stories of Asian American and Pacific Islander Boilermakers to highlight their early and ongoing positive impact on the campus community and beyond.

Lowering costs of using solar-powered electricity when it’s not sunny

Solar power accounts for about 2% of U.S. electricity, but it could become more widespread if it were cheaper to generate this electricity and make it readily available on cloudy days and at nighttime. To lower those costs, Purdue University engineers are developing ways to improve how facilities called concentrated solar power plants produce electricity.
