Winners of Purdue University's 2021 teaching awards were surprised with the news this week (March 15-19). Today, Purdue Today celebrates the individuals recognized with the Exceptional Early Career Award -- Megha Anwer, Ann Loomis and Greg Strimel -- and the Excellence in Instruction Award for Lecturers -- Jennifer Hall and Lindsay Hamm.

Purdue's most vulnerable faculty, staff and students deserve our best protection. Berkeley Lile, a junior studying neurobiology and physiology, is just one of Purdue's COVID-19 at-risk individuals. Women's History Month honors Helen Schleman, dean of women

Helen B. Schleman (pictured, second from left) is acknowledged for having fought for women's rights at Purdue. Schleman served as director of the first women's residence hall at Purdue in 1934. After taking a leave of absence to serve in the Women's Coast Guard Reserve during World War II, Schleman returned in 1947 as dean of women.

Purdue student wins Churchill Scholarship

The Winston Churchill Foundation of the United States has named Purdue student Daniel Gochenaur one of 17 Churchill Scholars for 2021. The highly competitive Churchill Scholarship provides funding to U.S. students for a year of graduate study in science, mathematics and engineering at the University of Cambridge.
