Critically acclaimed author of 'Algorithms of Oppression' to speak on campus

Safiya Noble, author of "Algorithms of Oppression: How Search Engines Reinforce Racism," will deliver the inaugural lecture in Purdue University Libraries' Critical Data Studies Distinguished Lecture Series on Oct. 3. Noble's lecture is part of the Ideas Festival, the centerpiece of Purdue's sesquicentennial celebration.

Purdue celebrates more students than ever seeking high-quality, affordable education

With the arrival of its biggest entering class ever, Purdue's overall enrollment has reached its highest all-time level. Total enrollment of 43,411 at the West Lafayette campus set a new record with a growth of 1,838 students over last year, and includes 32,672 undergraduates. Most of the incoming 8,357 freshmen attended Boiler Gold Rush orientation, shown above.
