Oral English Proficiency Program Department of English

Departmental Liaisons

Each department or program on campus that employs international graduate students as teaching assistants has a faculty or staff member who’s been appointed their department’s liaison to the OEPP.  The liaison is usually a graduate administrator, secretary, advisor, or other staff member who works with the graduate students in their area.

What do department liaisons do?  Liaisons are the link between the OEPP and the international graduate students needing our services. They make it possible for our staff to efficiently handle the high volume of students who are screened for oral English proficiency, and to assist those who are subsequently enrolled in ENGL 62000 each semester.  The OEPP staff works through the department liaison on all administrative matters rather than directly with students.
