Programs must conduct and document registry checks on ALL program staff. This includes faculty, staff, or students at the University, volunteers, and third-party sponsors’ staff.
Sponsors may employ more thorough background check resources than those required by the University as long as they at least comply with the Registry Check requirement.
Registry checks are done online by searching for the individual’s name. A date of birth and home address can be used to differentiate between duplicate names. Links to the required registries are below.
Registry checks are valid for 12 months. Compliance and expiration dates are tracked through the Purdue University Protection of Minors Portal.
