This training module will help you understand the expectations surrounding the use of Race and Ethnicity Data in admissions and financial aid decisions. It is essential to recognize that Standard (S-30) and university policy strictly prohibit considering an applicant’s race or ethnicity in these decisions.

Through this training, you will learn:

  • What constitutes prohibited use of Race and Ethnicity Data under Purdue’s standard
  • How individual experiences can be considered while avoiding race-based decisions
  • What steps to take to ensure compliance with legal and policy requirements

Audience: This training applies to all university faculty, staff, offices, departments, colleges, schools, and other units that collect, access, store, or use student Race or Ethnicity Data.
