What’s happening? Purdue University is introducing a more robust, fully branded electronic central calendar that streamlines the West Lafayette campus’ public events and allows the University community and the general public to customize their personal scheduling and event planning. The Purdue University Events Calendar is officially launching Monday (Aug. 8).

‘This Is Purdue’: Dean Linda Mason on Boilermakers’ ‘can-do’ attitude, graduate school record growth

The new episode of “This Is Purdue” features Linda Mason, dean of Purdue’s Graduate School. Since Mason took over in 2018, the Graduate School has experienced immense growth, including record-high numbers both in overall and international student enrollment. Listen as Mason discusses how she and her team increased support and opportunities for Boilermaker graduate students, including adding more than 360 professional development workshops and the Graduate Parent Support Network.

Purdue ranked No. 4 most trusted public university in the U.S.

Purdue University has been voted America’s No. 4 most trusted public university, and No. 21 overall, in Morning Consult’s “Most Trusted Universities” study measuring how deeply the public currently trusts universities “to do the right thing.” Purdue is the highest ranked among public Big Ten universities, and second overall behind Northwestern.

Nuclear reactor

Purdue, Duke Energy lecture series on nuclear energy to start Aug. 30

Purdue University and Duke Energy will host the first monthly installment of the “Understanding Tomorrow’s Nuclear Energy” lecture series from 4-5 p.m. ET on Aug. 30 in Stewart Center’s Fowler Hall. Registration is now open for “Clean Nuclear Energy: Past, Present, and Future,” which will provide an overview of nuclear reactor technologies.
