The National Alliance on Mental Illness finds that one in five Americans suffers from a mental health disorder every year. In response, SupportLinc – Purdue's employee assistance program on the West Lafayette campus – created its “One in Five” campaign, which aims to normalize the need for mental health resources and remove the stigma for individuals who want to access care.

About 116 Purdue volunteers honored the life and legacy of the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. by participating in the MLK Day of Service on Monday (Jan. 17). Volunteers built raised garden beds, prepared pancake mix and laundry powder, and assembled hygiene kits for the homeless and winter kits for Purdue students. The event was coordinated by Boilers in Action.
