Purdue to provide a one-time appreciation award now, 4% salary merit pool in fiscal 2022-23 for WL employees

Record enrollment levels, combined with a sound investment strategy and extremely low institutional debt yielding nearly unprecedented financial stability, are paving the way for a one-time appreciation award and the largest salary merit pool in over 20 years for employees at Purdue University’s West Lafayette campus.

Holiday festivities began at Purdue Memorial Union on Monday (Dec. 6) with the arrival of a freshly cut Christmas tree, and the annual tree lighting followed on Tuesday (Dec. 7). President Mitch Daniels gave remarks before lighting the tree, and the Purduettes provided a musical performance. Holiday activities will continue at the Union this week.

Engineers gain highest national distinction as academic inventors

Three engineers from Purdue’s College of Engineering -- Santokh Badesha, Ajay Malshe and Nien Hwa Linda Wang -- have been named fellows by the National Academy of Inventors, the highest professional distinction given solely to academic inventors. This year’s selections bring the number of Purdue Engineering NAI fellows to 12. In all, Purdue has 17 fellows.
