Purdue Day of Giving set for Wednesday

The eighth annual Purdue Day of Giving, themed “We Are Purdue,” is scheduled for Wednesday (April 28). Students, alumni, faculty and staff, parents, retirees and friends of Purdue are encouraged to give back on Wednesday to grant opportunities and transform lives at Purdue.

Calvary Racing’s Jacob Peddycord takes a victory lap

Rookie driver Jacob Peddycord won the 64th running of the Purdue Grand Prix race Sunday (April 25). The karting race, dubbed the “Greatest Spectacle in College Racing,” took place on the Purdue Grand Prix Track adhering to Protect Purdue guidelines. Purdue President Mitch Daniels served as this year’s grand marshal.

How did the Protect Purdue campaign assist in getting 50,000 people to return to campus safely? Dr. Esteban Ramirez, chief medical officer for the Protect Purdue Health Center, joins the "This is Purdue" podcast to discuss Protect Purdue, tackling this massive initiative virtually, and some of the biggest lessons learned.

The whitest paint is here. It’s the coolest. Literally.

In an effort to curb global warming, Purdue University engineers have created the whitest paint yet. Coating buildings with this paint may one day cool them off enough to reduce the need for air conditioning, the researchers say. In October, the team created an ultra-white paint that pushed limits on how white paint can be.

Julius Eason from the Graduate School provided a wonderful training session for judges who have volunteered for the Spring Undergraduate Research Conference.
