Walther Cancer Foundation $11 million investment to expand IU-Purdue bioinformatics collaboration

The Walther Cancer Foundation will invest $11 million to advance collaborative cancer research at Indiana University and Purdue University by supporting scientists through bioinformatics — an increasingly critical aspect of their work. Bioinformatics involves managing and analyzing the massive amounts of data generated by scientific research — turning data into knowledge that could lead to new cancer treatments.

Veterinary Medicine honored for commitment to diversity, inclusion

The College of Veterinary Medicine has been honored as a recipient of the 2020 Health Professions Higher Education Excellence in Diversity (HEED) Award from INSIGHT Into Diversity magazine, the oldest and largest diversity-focused publication in higher education. Presented annually, the national Health Professions HEED Award recognizes U.S. colleges and universities that demonstrate an outstanding commitment to diversity and inclusion.

Grace Johnson

Junior becomes latest Udall Scholarship recipient from Purdue

The Udall Foundation has named Purdue student Grace Johnson a 2020 Udall Scholar. Johnson is among only 55 students in the United States to be awarded with the scholarship. She is Purdue’s fifth Udall Scholar since 2013. Johnson is a junior in the College of Agriculture and the Honors College pursuing a major in natural resources and environmental science with a concentration in environmental policy and analysis.
