Study: Your home’s water quality could vary by the room – and the season

Is the water in your home actually safe, given that water utility companies in the U.S. aren’t required by law to monitor the water that specifically enters a building at its service line? A study has found that the water quality of a home can differ in each room and change between seasons, challenging the assumption that the water in a public water system is the same as the water that passes through a building’s plumbing at any time of the year.

Panelists discuss ‘Religion, Polarization, and the Public Space’

Six individuals from diverse religious viewpoints on Wednesday (Feb. 19) discussed “Religion, Polarization, and the Public Space” as part of Purdue’s “Democracy, Civility, and Freedom of Expression,” a series of events aimed to engage people in these important societal topics. The next event, “Beyond Labels: Addressing the Grand Challenge of Democracy Together," will take place March 3.

Purdue Northwest Athletics announces addition of esports

The Purdue University Northwest Pride on Monday (Feb. 17) announced the addition of esports as PNW’s 14th varsity athletic program. Esports — a competitive, organized, and multiplayer online video game competition — is among the world’s fastest-growing sports at the collegiate level. In fall 2020, PNW will be the first public university in Indiana to offer esports at the varsity level.
