Proposals sought for next round of conference
competition

The Office of the Provost and the Office of the Executive Vice President for Research and Partnerships are seeking proposals for a conference competition to bring top-level scholars, researchers and lecturers to campus, and to increase Purdue’s visibility nationally and internationally.

BTN LiveBIG: Purdue vets look to curb equine asthma

Horses are natural athletes. According to Laurent L. Couëtil, director of Purdue's Equine Sports Medicine Center, horses are extremely fast and athletic because of their large lung and respiratory capacity. Unfortunately that capacity, along with large hearts, makes horses more susceptible to respiratory disease. Purdue researchers are working to understand those diseases in horses, equine asthma in particular.

Purdue Polytechnic High
School scholarship to create path to Purdue

A new scholarship for graduates of the Purdue Polytechnic High School in Indiana will put the dream of a Purdue college education within students’ reach. Purdue University opened the first Purdue Polytechnic High School, a free, public charter school, in downtown Indianapolis in 2017 with a focus on STEM education for underrepresented minority students.

A reception Tuesday (Jan. 21) honored the three recipients of Purdue’s 2020 Dreamer Award — Kenneth C. Christmon, associate vice chancellor of admissions, Purdue Fort Wayne; Shawn S. Donkin, assistant dean of research and graduate education, College of Agriculture, Purdue West Lafayette; and Morris Levy, professor emeritus, College of Science, Purdue West Lafayette.
