APSAC has awarded individual professional development grants to 20 management and professional staff members for the fall application cycle. Grants up to $750 are awarded twice a year. APSAC, the Administrative and Professional Staff Advisory Committee, presented a total of $10,125 for its fall 2019 grants.

A dumbbell-shaped nanoparticle powered just by the force and torque of light has become the world's fastest-spinning object. Scientists at Purdue created the object, which revolves at 300 billion revolutions per minute. Or, put another way, half a million times faster than a dentist's drill.

Purdue Polytechnic Institute continues to expand its pilot training for students with the addition of a new, high-level flight simulator to the School of Aviation and Transportation Technology. A Boeing 737 NexGen jet flight training device recently was installed in the Holleman-Niswonger Simulator Center at Purdue University Airport.
