A leading neuroscientist will discuss recent advances in genome editing technologies, addressing the question of “What IF Breakthrough Technologies Could Make Us Smarter?” today (Oct. 15) at Purdue. Guoping Feng's presentation, "Live Long and Prosper: The Promise of Science (Fiction) and Medicine," is sponsored by the College of Pharmacy.

Giant Leaps Research: Mohamed Seleem

With too few antibiotics under development to keep up with the rise of antibiotic-resistant infections, the world is starting to run out of antibiotics. That also means hospitals will start seeing more patients with infections they can’t treat, and more infections that were once easily treated are becoming fatal. A Purdue scientist is trying to keep that from happening.

Daniels, Akridge flu shots

Flu shots available via designated locations, flu shot events

President Mitch Daniels and Provost Jay Akridge receive their flu shots from Rachel Lindsey, second-year PharmD student, and John Klopping, PharmD candidate. Benefits-eligible employees and spouses and dependents covered on a Purdue medical plan have on-campus access to free flu vaccines for 2019 at West Lafayette, Purdue University Northwest and Purdue University Fort Wayne.

This photo gallery captures their time together on campus as they were honored during halftime of the Homecoming football game, visited local Indiana schools, met with Purdue students, greeted fans during a meet-and-greet session, and toured campus, including an exhibit of the personal papers of their fellow alum, Neil Armstrong.
