Homecoming 2019 Giant Leaps free concert to feature Big Gigantic with MadeinTYO

The Homecoming 2019 Giant Leaps concert will feature Big Gigantic with MadeinTYO. The free concert will be at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 11 on Slayter Hill. Elliott Hall of Music will serve as the rain location. This concert is a part of the Take Giant Leaps campaign finale.

Purdue football to take on Vanderbilt for home opener

The Boilermakers, under third-year head coach Jeff Brohm, will play host to Vanderbilt on Saturday (Sept. 7) at Ross-Ade Stadium. Kickoff is set for noon, and the game will be televised by BTN. Tickets | Game notes | More gameday activities

Electronic glove offers ‘humanlike’ features for prosthetic hand users

People with hand amputations experience difficult daily life challenges, often leading to lifelong use of a prosthetic hand and services. An electronic glove, or e-glove, developed by Purdue researchers can be worn over a prosthetic hand to provide humanlike softness, warmth, appearance and sensory perception, such as the ability to sense pressure, temperature and hydration.

Urine analysis could
provide faster diagnosis
of brain injury

A traumatic brain injury is often easily suspected and can be confirmed and treated if necessary following an injury using a blood analysis, but scientists are reporting that even one mild blast to the brain can cause very subtle but permanent damage as well. Purdue research now shows that urine analysis taken within one week of a mild to traumatic brain injury can provide faster diagnosis and treatment for such injuries.
