As summer approaches, the Center for Healthy Living on Purdue’s West Lafayette campus is offering a workshop focused on skin cancer awareness from 2 to 3 p.m. May 1 in Stewart Center, Room 313. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, despite efforts to address skin cancer risk factors, skin cancer rates have continued to increase in the United States and worldwide.

The Purdue Farmers Market will return at the north end of Memorial Mall along Oval Drive on Thursday (May 2) for the start of its 10th season. The market will be open from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. each Thursday from May 2 through Aug. 1. Hours will extend from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. from Aug. 8 through Oct. 31.

When an HIV outbreak hit Indiana's rural Scott County in 2015, the sparsely staffed health department was stretched to confirm cases among an entire community with lab tests that aren't portable and could take weeks to return results. This meant that it took over a year to confirm 235 HIV cases for the area. What if patients could reliably test themselves at home and know results in minutes?

In the fall of 2013, Purdue University, the Purdue Research Foundation and the City of West Lafayette began work to reimagine the State Street corridor running through the heart of campus.
